Milne Veggie Patch 2nd May 2012

Oscar's bed everything was grown from seed - pumpkins and mustard leaves and something else which I am still unsure of.

Grape vine and arugula.

Mint

Artichoke, melon, aubergine (eggplant) and tomato. Don't be fooled by the small size of baby artichoke plants as they grow to be the size of a bush!

Herb garden - oregano, sweet basil, coriander (cilantro), dill, sage, thyme and chives.  The coriander grows like a weed and is incredibly tasty.

Mia's pot - The water melon was grown from seed and is still not looking that healthy.  None of the corn she planted has grown.

Various peppers (bell and chilli) and a courgette (zuccini) plant that looks like it might take over.

Five tomato plants - I would probably grow three on here next year as I think five will become too crowded.  I have hung a bird feeder on the top of the structure to encourage the birds to eat the bugs.  A nice 'Eco' bug solution from Ann Ellis.

Louis planter - with various chilli peppers.  They have really started to take off, now that we have slowed down on the watering!

Tomato plant plus flowering sweet peas (grown from seed, only 4 out of 20 have grown, it is rather disapointing.  I think I need to pre-soak and maybe sandpaper them a bit?)

Over Watering!  I am hoping that the pumpkin and maybe one of the beans will make it...

Hanging tomatoes - Richard is loving these.  I have set up some irrigation for them - lets see what happens.

Strawberries.

Within the courgette (zuccini) jungle, you can see our first courgette at the end of the flower.

Cheery tomatoes - this plant has lots of bunches already.

Out of focus pepper flower bud.

This is a fruiting tree in the garden - tried to photo the leaves and the green fruit - can you help identify?

Second view of the tree i am trying to identify

Our peach tree is ripening nicely - next question is how do you store peaches?
